The film features an all-star cast, including AnnaSophia Robb and Helen Hunt, with Carrie Underwood in her film debut, and Dennis Quaid. In the wake of this life-changing event that took her arm and nearly her life, Bethany's feisty determination and steadfast beliefs spur her toward an adventurous comeback that gives her the grit to turn her loss into a gift for others.
The film was produced with a budget of $18 million, but on its opening weekend it grossed $10 million and since has grossed a total of $43 million. The film opened to mixed reviews from critics, but received a rare A+ CinemaScore rating from filmgoers.
Blueprint Advertising was fortunate enough to play a part in the online marketing (See: RCO Program) for Soul Surfer. Since the theatrical release, Blueprint again played a role in the marketing efforts for a Church Ministry release, and then the DVD release.
